The Remote Resort in Fiji luxuriously lives up to its name.
Located on an isolated peninsula on Fiji’s famous Rainbow Reef, this secluded gem is only accessible by boat.
Set on a former coconut plantation, it’s one of the most private resorts in the world boasting only a handful of villas.
There are three Oceanfront Villas designed for couples, featuring large decks with plunge pools, oversized daybeds and beach views. The interiors feature luxurious king size beds, French press coffee and BOSE docking stations.
Wooden louvers and large panels of glass on all four sides maximize both the ocean views and the sea breezes, aided by a ceiling fan if desired. The Oceanfront villas feature outdoor bathrooms tucked into the hills behind each villa for a refreshing (yet private) twist on your daily shave (showers are open-air).
The Remote Resort offers two Oceanfront Retreats designed for couples, featuring large decks with large plunge pools, sun loungers looking out to the jetty and distant island views.
These interiors feature luxurious king size beds, French press coffee and stereo system with built-in ceiling speakers and fully-loaded iPad. The bedroom is air-conditioned (in addition to a ceiling fan) and features wooden louvres and large panels of glass maximize the light and views. The Oceanfront Retreats feature indoor bathrooms with shower.
Finally, the two-bedroom villa is poised right on the oceanfront at the far end of the resort for maximum privacy and boasts an expansive deck with private plunge pool and outdoor lounge.
The two bedroom villa features two bedrooms, accommodating up to four persons in either two king beds or one king and two king singles. Each bedroom has air conditioning and an ensuite style bathroom. There is a kitchenette with full-size refrigerator and coffee and tea-making facilities.
In total, there are 64 acres of property with gardens and paths to explore as the jungle meets the beach.
Relax by the pool or take it a step further and request a massage and spa service.
The resort offers a complimentary reef snorkeling excursion right off the beach in front of the property (Nukuni reef).
There is an abundance of unique Fiji marine life including hundreds of tropical fish and varieties of coral stretching from one end of the resort to the other. The resort team will guide you on a snorkel tour from the jetty to explore the Fiji world beneath the waves.
Another complimentary resort experience is The Coconut & Pina Colada Show.
Here guests can learn about Coconut 101 where staff show guests the many ways the humble coconut tree is used in everyday life in Fijian villages. The show culminates with the creation of the resort’s very own Nukuni Pina Colada with pineapples freshly picked from the garden and coconut milk straight from the tree.
For anyone looking to get a little more adventurous, Remote Resort offers kayaking and fishing in addition to the usual beachside lounging, cooking classes, peninsula hikes and more.
There are optional extras as well like upgraded scuba diving experiences, farm visits, horseback rides and waterfall hikes.
Fiji Airways and Island Hoppers offer domestic flights from Fiji’s Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Taveuni and Savusavu islands. The flight to either island takes about an hour.
From Taveuni, it is a 20-minute drive followed by a 20-minute boat ride to the resort; alternatively, from Savusavu, it is a 1-hour drive followed by a 15-minute boat ride to the resort.
